MINI MAX
Comments:
For only $35 you can get this model. You do need to build
it. It comes with engine. You'll need nano servos. You can buy the
Duracell batteries at Walmart for $20 (AAA) and solder them. Use seven
750mAh NiMH and you will fly for a half an hour or more.
Great plane, although not good for heavy G maneuvers. Foam
wings will start to crush, and if it were not for the fiberglass rod, they
would just fold like paper.
You can hover like a humming bird in 5MPH winds. You can
land in a very short runway, as long as there is no wind. 10MPH wind will
carry the plane away like a piece of paper, and very fast. If you crash,
you will not do a lot of harm. Heavy aerobatic maneuvers will do more harm
than a bad landing. It is a very resistant plane, and an excellent
trainer. Good for soaring thermals also.
If the ruder or elevator brakes, use toothpicks to fix it.
Get plenty of propellers, 'cause you will need them. If you local hobby
shop does not have propellers, you can easily cut any slow flier prop to
the appropriate size. Do not be afraid to experiment.
